When I was younger my mother would tell me that asparagus were baby Christmas trees so that I would eat them. That one little fib turned into a love for these tasty little veggies. Now I am growing them in my garden. I have never seen an asparagus plant. Last year I had planted it just for the fun of it and it was just tiny little leaves, but this year these little guys sprouted up.
I love asparagus. We used to ride our horses in an area where we could find wild asparagus sprouting in the springtime. When we found some we would always stop and have a fresh snack. It’s neat that you are able to grow it.
