April 28, 2011 - 5:57pm
My first ever kitchen table that I have owned. Yes being 28 that seems a little weird to most, but most people know that I love photography more. So my dinning rooms usually were my office for photography equipment and computers.
Yes, that is a super ugly table cloth, I know. But I also know that my cat likes to slide on smooth surfaces. She loves to run from the kitchen in the living room and the hard wood and jump on the coffee table and slide all the way across (leaving claw marks). So until I can get some glass for the top of this beautiful table, I have to deal with a table cloth or my cat may end up being Chinese food by the end of the day. :-) Kidding! I love her, but my guess...some restaurant would pay top dollar for her fat ass if she doesn't behave around my new table. :-)
Picking up the camera.... This project has been extended due to my lack of doing the project. So I may start to make it a little different to where I can continue on this project. I think originally I bit off more than I could chew for a full 360 days straight.

Frost
April 28, 2011 - 7:10am
Even when you need to scrape the frost from your car so you can head to work there are still the small things that make you stop and say "wow"

VOLLEYBALL

I was so nervous for this day, because it would be the first time since my broken hand that I played. Then the storm came in and it got canceled.... what a build up! ha

Pete Vinton
April 25, 2011 - OFF
This morning I found out that a very great man was killed in a plane crash over the weekend. I don't have pictures of him, but I have memories.
Pete was an amazing client, but I would have considered him a great friend.
The day I met Pete he shook my hand so hard it hurt for a few hours. The ladies at work and I laughed about it, because most of the time when a guys goes to shake a woman's hand it's that soft finger shake that drives me crazy. So this was a nice change for once.
He offered to take me flying. Our schedules never matched up but he called me monthly or shot me an email to tell me where he was off too next. Just a few weeks ago he said he would come and visit me when he got back from his trip to Tokyo, and he was hoping he didnt come back glowing.
Pete Vinton was an amazing pilot. He flew all the time, and we talked about all the things he would do in the Navy and to all the trainees. He said he would take me up and we would fly to Ft. Collins to have lunch and he would do a barrel roll if I could stomach it. I was all about it. I would come to his Pancake breakfast so he could show me all the cool planes and the amazing field where pilots could come and go like a drive down the road and park their planes in the garages / hangers attached to their homes. He was so proud of this project.
He would even go up to Montana to calf drive, and offered to take me so I could take pictures. He was an amazing man. I miss him dearly because he would always make me laugh. I am truly grateful that I got to know him.
There have been so many people I have known that have gone this year. It has taken its toll, but I am so thankful for an amazing set of friends and family for my support system to help me grieve. I love all of you and thank you so much for everything. I am so lucky!!!!!!!

Last Day
April 24, 2011 - All day
the last day at Winter Park is a sight to see. I have never been there before but it was worth not heading back up the mountain to do one more run.

Beer 30
April 23, 2011 - 10:32am
In Winter Park, the powder was inches deep with snow coming down, and by the time it turns 10:30...its beer 30, you have to stop to have a nice cold Coors Light.

Saddest Dog
April 21, 2011 - 6:05pm
I love how my dog pretends he is so sad and unloved. He is a complete scammer! He plays like he is being tortured in order to get treats, get more food...he is so smart because it always works.

Need a House
April 18, 2011 - 2:20pm
I know I haven't posted in a really long time....I have been busy, or lazy.
Anyways if anyone needs a house, I have one for sale, but you can't view it, thanks to Mr. Obama and his Protecting Tenants Act of 2009. So AWESOME! (that was sarcasm, just in case you didn't notice)

DEER!
April 17, 2011 -7:15am
Nothing like going to take the dog out and there is a herd of deer taking a little drink after their breakfast. Again....my favorite place.

Number 3
April 14, 2011 - 11:07am
My third month of documenting the Colorado Justice Center in the construction progress. This morning was actually really nice, I didn't have to rush and I could listen to the protesters at the Capital screaming something about government. But it was a nice beautiful day and I am really enjoying this project more and more.

A Choke
April 13, 2011 - 5:46pm
I love these weird things. But I don't know how to cook them faster. It takes me an hour to get these just right and that is a long time to wait for these little delicious morsels. So if anyone knows a way to cook them faster then boiling for an hour, please let me know.

Cloud collection
April 12, 2011 - 6:15pm
Any photographer will know the importance of have a cloud collection. You're consistently taking photographs of clouds and keep them in a folder, so if you ever need to drop in a new sky for a photograph that doesn't have the best one you have a stock of different ones so you can try and match the light the best you can....so no one will know the truth.

Frank
April 10, 2011 -
Today was the day that I got to say goodbye to a wonderful man. A man that was a wonderful husband, great father and even better friend. He raised my best friend to be a strong independent opinionated man. The more I got to know Frank the more I realized that Matt is Frank's son to the tee. Even in his last few days Frank was still making people smile and laugh, and cry for the thought of life without him.
I got to ask some deep advice from a man that is on his death bed, and had nothing to lose by telling the truth. I learned more about life in those few minutes with him then I have in a long time. He showed me today to live my life to the fullest with love. You can see the world and do everything possible, but it doesn't mean anything when you don't having anyone waiting for you at the airport gate when you come home from a trip.
The last two grateful moments I got to spend with Frank, he quoted Hepburn, and every time he messed it up...that or I just cant remember, but he said "To love is to love..... something like that." So now I am searching for who said it, was it Katherine or Audrey and what was the quote. But to get down to it, Frank said "Just love with everything you have and the rest will come"
I feel so lucky to have known him and to be a part of my life. Frank will be missed and loved and I am so thankful today I got to say my goodbye. Thank you Frank for touching my life and you will always hold a place in my heart.
I got the pleasure years ago to photograph a loving family and be a part of a special day that they came together to show their support for my friend. This family is warm, and has treated me like one of their own, for almost 10 years.
We got to take Matt and Frank to their first Bronco game together. Now they had been to many games apart, but I had the pleasure of being there while a father and son got to watch Tim Tebow run in for a touchdown (for the first time)....now we all know we wished it was John Elway, but it was still fun.
Then, after the Bronco game, a ride in a "rickshaw" (which I just learned that this little cart was called that today, because of Frank) all the way from Invesco Field to 16th street mall with four of us packed into this thing. One thing we do not give Frank credit for...is Matt being a Princess! This was a blast and will always be a memory that whenever I get in one of these carts I will think of this fun loving man!
I truly hope that when these days come to an end for this warm caring man, he will know that he was loved...by many!

IKEA!!!! I am one of those crazy people that CANNOT wait for this store to open. I have even pack an extra suitcase when I would go on a vacation to a city that had one of these so I could spend a day pretending I was an interior designer, and buying anything that I could fit into that suitcase. I know, I know, I am ONE OF THOSE and I am completely fine with it. I love those Swed's, hahaha.

My Volleyball Best Friend likes to laugh everything off to everyone...or most. He thinks he can deflect whats really going on in his head by just laughing, but I know better. This image is my favorite of him. He is always acting super happy and that is the one thing I envy and admire about him, he doesn't let people really know that something is going on. I worry when he isn't pretending, because then I know its bad. But this man is funny, fun, genuine, caring, loyal and has an ability to make people smile. Mostly because he is easy to pick on, but he is a true and valuable friend. I am lucky to call him my Volleyball Best Friend.
Love ya Dave!

All You Can Eat
April 5, 2011 - 6:48pm
It's always a nice treat when I get to chow down on some All You Can Eat King Crab. They try and trick you with salad and a big loaded baked potato, but don't let them fool you, they do this so you will eat less of the tasty good stuff. After 3 1/2 pounds of crab I needed to be rolled out of the restaurant, but it is still so good once it hits your lips.

Baby Christmas Trees
April 3, 2011 - 2:11pm
When I was younger my mother would tell me that asparagus were baby Christmas trees so that I would eat them. That one little fib turned into a love for these tasty little veggies. Now I am growing them in my garden. I have never seen an asparagus plant. Last year I had planted it just for the fun of it and it was just tiny little leaves, but this year these little guys sprouted up.

Painting the town

I find it funny that I think a black and white or sepia toned images of paint is more interesting then a colored image.

Taking for granted
March 31, 2011 - 7:23am
I just like how the light scattered across the mountains. In Denver it's hard to see the mountains all the time. Not being able to wake up right next to them like I did growing up in Colorado Springs, makes me really miss them. Whenever I go down there I remember how beautiful they are and how much I took the view for granted while I lived there.
