11 / 11 / 11

November 11, 2011 - 6:31am
One good thing about having to wake up to take the dogs out on your day off is that you get to see this things when I should have been in bed sleeping.

Thank you Veterans who served our country and allowed me the freedom to sleep in or get up to see these amazing sights.

Also the next cool number date I will be saying my vows to the most amazing man I know!  12 / 12 / 12 is going to come quick!

Cash Register

November 10, 2011 - 5:10pm

The building I get to walk through is so eye catching and interesting to me.  I love windows it brings in the natural light and in this building, there are only a few of these lamps to light your way.

Dark Tunnel....

November 9, 2011 - 6:19pm

So I have to park about 3 blocks away from my office.  The nice thing is I can walk through the buildings and down to this tunnel to get to my car, so its safer.  But whenever I ride this escalator down, I think...."whats going to be in the underground tunnel when I get to the bottom".... and usually it's a bright lite empty tunnel.  Maybe one day it will be something interesting, safe but interesting.

Cuddle Bear

November 8, 2011 -

Bear was not happy with me....he wanted to cuddle and I wanted to take his picture.

Painting

November 7, 2011 - 5:47pm

On my way home from Colorado Springs and doing some training for work, I saw this cloud.  For some reason it reminded me of one of my dad's paintings.  He would spend years on a painting to just get it right....and then never finishing for about 10 years, but I totally understand being an artist.  Art work is never finished.

Theme

November 6, 2011 - afternoon

I think there was a theme for this weekend....James likes to carry animals and kids on his shoulders.....

A long walk

November 5, 2011 - Early

We went for a little...well long walk and Bear got a little tired.  Preston had to carry him for a little while, but James threw him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes...which I am not too sure where that saying came from because who carries that many potatoes????

Fun times

November 4, 2011 - Different times

There is nothing like spending a week away from the man you love to landing and running to a Murder Mystery.  So much fun thanks to Jenn & Preston for hosting. I have not laughed so hard in my life.  I was extremely home sick being in St. Louis, so this really solved the problem.

Stopping at Taco Bell for some grub and Bear trying to jump out the window...he must have smelt the amazingness and wanted to be closer!

Rained out

November 3, 2011 - 7:11am - 7:21am

The one day I was downtown St. Louis for the first time in my life, it was pouring rain and cold...so I didn't get to go up in the arch or really get to walk around.  I mean I could have walked around, but it would not have been fun at all.

Art

November 2, 2011 - 5:16pm

This sculpture was by my hotel in St. Louis...well Chesterfield was were I was staying...outside of St. Louis.  But I gor to drive by this and wonder "What is it?"....just had to say "Art"

Travel

November 1, 2011 - 4:10pm - CST

I haven't done a lot of business travel before, but one perk is getting to pretend you got a new car. This time I got to drive an Impala for a week....Nice Car!

Over the traffic

October 31, 2011 -  5:38pm

So over the Friday night traffic...or traffic in general. I love my new job, but I could do without all the traffic to get there and home.  But I would much rather love my job and deal with traffic then hate my job!

Early morning

October 29, 2011 - 7:05am

He tends to plop down and just try to ignore me when he knows he is going back inside.  He knows that we are all dressed up for work and that means he will be home all day without us.

More sunset

October 28, 2011 -  4:50pm

I have no idea why I love sunsets so much...maybe because it means it is going to be a new day soon, or that I get to sleep soon....and I LOVE my sleep.

Forgot the feeling

October 27, 2011 - 9:17am

I don't get down to Colorado Springs very much, but I was lucky today to get paid to drive around and visit the banking locations there and meet everyone.  After getting a flat tire and my wonderful fiance came to my rescue in the cold weather I was able to remember why I loved Colorado Springs.  Don't get me wrong, it's a great place, but not a place I would ever want to live...again.  The mountains being so close is beautiful, but the city itself is not very.....well kept.  There is vandalism and trash and weeds and just the streets are not well kept.  I am really trying not to sound snooty but I feel like for such a beautiful place, the city should hold to those higher standards.
But I continue to forget what a beautiful view the city does have, and I am joyfully reminded when I get to visit where I grew up.

I was not a complete slacker the last few to five months, I did take some pictures.  The next few days I will throw in some extra images that I didn't take that day, but that I did in my long vacation from Project 360.

These images I took for our engagement.  The camera timer is a great way to take some self portraits...

It has been too long

October 26, 2011 - Too Many to catch up

So I gave up on this task and did not self-motivate enough to continue.  I regret that, because I get a few great comments that people enjoyed my daily images, which I am so thankful for those people.  With those comments I will attempt again.

I have a few images that I will post that are not as many as I need to catch up.  But a very wonderful and wise woman told me this weekend "just start fresh, the task to catch up is to daunting" and today, I finally sit down to start over.

It was a task that I challenged myself with picking up the camera...every day...and I have failed.  I failed myself.  I set this goal for myself.  No one forced me to start this project, and no one forced me to continue, this is all on me.  I didn't have a boss that said if I do not complete this challenge I will not get paid, hence where the motivation dwindled.

In the last few months...or the last 5 months, my life has changed....DRAMATICALLY.

I got engaged to the love of my life.
and we got a puppy....  This is Bear.... he is an English Golden Retriever.  He will be all white, therfore we called him Bear...like a polar bear and in the snow he looks more like one, plus he just looks sleepy all the time.

This picture I am going to sell to the Animal Shelters for their fundraising efforts.  He just looks sad, and with the metal kennel he looks deprived, yet he has a suede pillow and toys and chose to go lay down there....but the image can be deceiving.
An here is the Polar Bear!  His first snow was this morning, and he is just like his older brother....LOVES IT!

You forget how hard puppies are. Throw away your ability to work from home.  For instance right now...it has taken me 30 minutes because the little stinky face has learned the bell to go outside and rings it every 5 minutes.  You have to take him out so that he continues to use it when he needs to pee, because trust me I am so over cleaning up pee, poop and vomit....not that I have to clean up anything other than pee since I just about gag myself to throwing up from the smell, so my lovely fiance cleans it up for me.  :-)  He is such a good man...I  really hope that carries over to when we have kids.

I am still photographing the Colorado Justice Center.  It has made some progress!!!   I have a new job now! I work at UMB Bank downtown off 16th and Broadway so I get to drive by this everyday to see the progress. I wish I had been there from the start so I can tell when I need to get out there and photograph.

I am loving my new job.  I can work from home!  It so crazy to me, but they didn't put in the employee handbook that "if you have a 13 week old puppy we suggest you limit your working from home, since you wont be very productive"  Just sayin'  They should add that!
Anyways, the company is amazing.  I love working with the people, and the company is so great to its employees.  I am very lucky for the opportunity to work for a great company in a time that so many people would take what they can get.

Anyways, I am again going to get motivated, and do what I need to do to make this blog a successful challenge.

Thank you all for your patience and thank you for following!  I hope to entertain you all more....  which working downtown, now, I come in contact with a lot of entertaining things!

Love ya!

My support

May 29, 2011 - 9:28pm

I am very lucky to have such a great support system....Named James Barrett.  He has been there to pick me up while I was kicked down.  I have never felt so beat down in my life after all of these deaths.  He has been there to hold me while I cry, and hold my hand and help me continue on.

Thank you James. You are truly a sweet man and I hope one day I can be there for you the way you have been there for me.

Pete Vinton "The Sky's The Limit"

May 28, 2011-  1:17pm

Saying goodbye to Pete was very hard for me.  He would always bring light when he came to see me or called me on the phone.  He was such an amazing man, so warm, so caring, so funny and loving.  I will never forget what Pete brought to my life for the short amount of time I got to spend with him.

Topping Out

May 24, 2011 - 12:12pm

I was invited to the topping out ceremony for the CJC and I had the pleasure of photographing the Chief of Justice signing his name on the last piece of steel being placed.  (I think it was the Chief of Justice....but if anyone knows who this is please tell me....I was just told he is SUPER important)
